An estimated 1.2 million people living in the United States are HIV positive. 13 percent of those living with HIV do not know their status and might need testing. Although the rates of HIV in the U.S. have declined, HIV continues to disproportionally affect racial and ethnic minorities and gay, bisexual, and men who have sex with men according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
